Club 408 @ Sonoma

What an incredible weekend with all of you. September 26th and 27th were a perfect example of what makes this group so special — great cars, great driving, teamwork, coaching, competition, and most importantly, an amazing sense of camaraderie. The. 408 Vault crew had an amazing time at the Lightspeed Track day event at Sonoma Raceway 

​

Despite Dave’s incident, I couldn’t be more proud of the 408 team. A huge shoutout to Nate, who spent hours and hours working to rebuild the Radical and get it back on track for Sunday. Getting Nate’s message Sunday morning saying that Dave was able to get back out there absolutely made my day. That is exactly the kind of dedication and teamwork that 408 is all about.

 

The driving all weekend was seriously impressive. Jeff was MOVING in the Viper on Saturday. Andy was absolutely killing it in the Alfa with Edgar coaching him, and Tom was a savage out there putting down laps — I think he’s ready to make the move into the next group!

One of the coolest moments of the entire weekend for me personally was watching my son get behind the wheel of my 911 for the first time. He had never driven that track before, and watching him go out and put down sub-2:00 lap times was pretty incredible. I also had an absolute blast chasing Fabio around in my group. His 620R is such a badass car, and running together made for some seriously fun laps.

And congratulations to Kabe, who set a new personal record in his Radical on Saturday! Seeing his reaction when he pulled back into the garage after realizing what he had done was one of the highlights of the weekend.

I also have to recognize Cannan. He is an absolute monster as a coach. The feedback I received from everyone who worked with him was incredible, and I’m extremely proud to have him as part of the club — not only as a member and friend, but as an incredible resource for our drivers. Between Cannan, Dave and Edgar, we have some serious coaching talent in our back pocket. Another 408 Vault member, Jon, was out there running his silver Viper with Serge’s group as well. Jon is a beast behind the wheel, and it was great having another member representing the club on track.

More than anything, I loved seeing everyone together in the garages — helping each other, talking cars, comparing laps, learning, laughing, and supporting one another. That camaraderie is what makes these weekends so much more than just another track day.
